Unlucky for some?

I realised the other day that it's been quite a while since I subbed a short short story, the BTL rewrite has been dominating my thoughts for a month or so. Well I put a stop to that lack of productivity today and have subbed two stories. One was a brand new one and the other was one that has been "reworked" as it were. That brings me up to 13 stories out there but at least two of them have been with That's Life for nigh on six months so there's not much longer for them. They do still have their if you've not heard in six months you've been unsuccessful policy don't they?
I'm planning on more subbing this week or certainly next.
I go through phases like this - I should really learn to pace myself.

Good luck with your short stories, Colette. I have only two out there at the moment as I'm busy working on my first draft, but once that is completed I shall leave my novel alone while I finish off a couple more stories so when I go back to the novel I will have a fresh mind and eyes to start the next stage.

That's an impressive number of stories to have out there - especially when you're also working on your book and on articles.

As far as I know, the 6month rule still applies to That's Life - I haven't heard anything different anyway.

I need to do some subbing as well, mainly of things that have been rejected. Sigh ...

The That's Life situation is a tad confusing as a new editor took over a couple of months ago and kind of started afresh, so we were advised to re-submit anything they'd had prior to his arrival - if that makes sense?

Good luck with the submissions :o)

Jarmara - good luck with all you efforts - there's nothing like coming at something afresh to help you see things you missed. Sometimes very obvious things.
Suzanne - thanks but ot probably sounds more impressive than it really is. I had a rush of submitting stuff a couple of months ago and I'm still waiting to hear about most of those. But hey, they're still out there so there's hope.
Helen - you and me both.
Maria - thanks, I love an award. I'll pop over there shortly.
Karen - it is very confusing especially as when I queried it a few weeks ago they said that it wasn't a hard and fast rule and that the new editor would be looking at things submitted before they started. I think I'll resubmit anyway.

Well done Colette - always best to have as much 'out there' as possible! And you know, those re-worked ones do sometimes succeed somewhere else. Good luck. x

You are so right Olivia. I always get a sense of extra satisfaction when a story that has been rejected gets accepted somewhere else.
