This week has been a good writing week. The other day I received a relatively large cheque (well the most I've ever been paid for a single item) in the morning and another smaller one later on. The second one may have been much smaller but it represented something valuable. It was a royalty cheque and that's what real writer's get. They get royalty cheques and that's what I got the other day so that must mean.....(you know where I'm going) Then yesterday I had an article accepted for a magazine. There's no date for publication yet but it's good to know that they want it.
The article is related to the Topsy project that I was working on which is a bit weird as I've said before that that was something I initially started just for me. I guess I was meant to share at least part of it.
All three things were very different which is good because it started me thinking that maybe I'm not the one trick pony that I thought I was. I think that if I want to make even a small second income from this I have to be able to turn my hand to lots of things.

That's brilliant news. And oooh a royalty cheque.
It's funny isn't it. No matter how many things you get published you still feel as though you're a one trick pony or that you're just getting published by fluke (well that's how I feel a lot of the time anyway). I wonder if that feeling ever really goes away?
I always feel like I get published by accident but Its good to know that it's not just me.
Yep. Time to change that title.
Yep, we all get the 'fluke' feeling.
Well done, Gonna B! I agree that it's good to diversify with the writing.
And I agree with the Captain. Time to change that title to I Am A Writer!
Maybe, but Gonna B fits me better than I am.
