Bless Him

I think that I've mentioned here before that I don't give what I have published to Himself to read as they're not his cup of tea - not enough murder, mayhem and intrigue. It's not something that bothers me and don't give it any thought. So imagine my surprise when over breakfast he picked up my contributor copy of The Weekly News which arrived yesterday and read my story. Better still, he laughed at the punch line. Bless Him.

That's so lovely :o) I think generally family tend be proud of our achievments, and my mum reads my stories even if they're in magazines (whisper it) she wouldn't normally buy!

How wonderful to hear that,Colette!

It put a smile on my face just knowing how great it must have made you feel. Keep at it my dear friend :-)

Ah, that's nice, Colette! My other half has read all my novels and if he says, on finishing, that he thought it was good (or 'probably your best so far', as he amazingly proclaimed about the latest one!!), then I know he means it. He tells me if he doesn't like them! - which has been hurtful at times, but I suppose I've come to recognise the benefit of his honesty. And one man's meat ... etc. He also does read the short stories - as you say, not his cup of tea but at least he reads them. Glad yours laughed at the punch line! I wish I could find a copy. x

It took me awhile to convince my husband to read what I write. He told me he was afraid he wouldn't like it and that he wouldn't know how to tell me. Surprise, surprise - he says it's actually pretty good. LOL!

Good for "Himself."

Thanks Karen, I was quite chuffed but not as chuffed as you were I bet by the beans you just spilled on your blog. Well done.
It did make me smile Jarmara.
It must have been hurtful for you Olivia when your other half says he doesn't like something you've written but as you say one man's meat etc, BTW I've been trying to leave a comment on your blog to say well done on the publications and the rotary club but for some reason it wouldn't let me.
Well done on impressing your other half Melissa, it does fell good doesn't it.

Good for him. Glad he enjoyed it so much too.

It was the fact that he chose to read it that made it better but he didn't disagree when I said that I'm no Steig Larson (apologies if the spelling's wrong) so I don't know if I'd inflict a book on him.
