My other half has re...Ah, that's nice, Colette! My other half has read all my novels and if he says, on finishing, that he thought it was good (or 'probably your best so far', as he amazingly proclaimed about the latest one!!), then I know he means it. He tells me if he doesn't like them! - which has been hurtful at times, but I suppose I've come to recognise the benefit of his honesty. And one man's meat ... etc. He also does read the short stories - as you say, not his cup of tea but at least he reads them. Glad yours laughed at the punch line!
