Just the Job and Christmas shopping

My story "Just the Job" is in this weeks Weekly News. Yay!! I haven't seen it yet so I don't know if its been changed much but I'm told it's definately there.
On a different note, Himself and I did the bulk of our Chritmas present shopping today - presents that is. Just another couple to get. Hope they're not expecting much this year because I've (I'll not say "we" because I know I'm the skinflint) have cut back this year. I'm personally trying to reinvent the notion that its the thought that counts.

Hi Colette, What wonderful news well done you!

We are just the same and been out and done our Xmas shopping. I start cleaning the house from the tiny cupboard upstair to the cupboard under the stairs downstair the whole house is clean right out before my long holiday over Christmas. It's my writing time and I don't want any reason whatsoever to be away from my keyboard.

Great news about the story, Colette! Do you know, I've never yet found The Weekly News in a newsagents in my neck of the woods - despite looking everywhere because I wanted to see what sort of stories they publish! (having never yet had one accepted by them - so I'm even more in awe of you!). I wonder why I can't find it. Must try harder - especially as I want to read your story now!

Well done with the shopping. You've put me to shame! xx

Congratulations for having your story in the Weekly News, and for getting the Christmas shopping underway. I haven't started mine yet.

Amanda - Thanks
Debs - It was a case of it's got to be done so lets get it over with.
Olivia - the only place I've seen it on sale around here is Morrissons.
Jarmara - happy writing.
Helen - hope you like it when/if you find it.

Congratulations on the story. I too have cut back to just a secret santa. Me and the boyf decided on no presents so we could have a trip away instead!

I still spoil Himself and the kids cos they are my life, the parents get decent presents because we love them and they've earned them for putting up with us for so long but the rest get "token" presents. To be honest I don't see my extended family much so I don't really know what they want, it's just something to say that I was thinking about them.
Where are you planning for your trip Lily?
