Not such a Nice project

I got the response on my "Nice" project today and sadly for me it was not the one I wanted. It was my first ever attempt at a "romance" for Mills and Boon so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised that I didn't get it right first time. It hasn't been a total waste because I learned a lot whilst writing it and I do think that the basic premise is okay. Maybe I'll stick it in a drawer (so to speak) for a while and then look at it again. I'm not sure what prompted me to write it other than it seemed like a good idea at the time. I hope I'm not coming across as despondent because that's not how I feel. At the end of the day it's just part of life's rich tapestry.

Quite right Colette - nothing is ever wasted. Keep at it!

Bad luck, Colette. I wonder, have you read lots of M & B? I gather you have to read a great many to get the feel for them.

Anyway, I hope the disappointment wears off soon. We've all been there!

Sorry to hear you didn't get acceptance for your novel. Why not try a 'Fifty shades of love' instead I'm sure there are women who would enjoy something with less sex and more loving.

Best wishes with your next one.

FP - No, nothing is a waste.
Frances - I've only read one or two and that was a while ago and to be honest the disappointment disappeared about five minutes after I'd read the email.
Paula - haven't read "50 Shades of Grey" so not quite sure what would be required but I'll give it some thought.
