It's still the same - just a different name. I used to be "Gonna be a writer" but now I'm me.

Decision day
This lunchtime at work I was sitting by a window just watching the world go by and with my mind wandering something blindingly obvious came to me. As regular visitors may remember I have mentioned more than once that I never feel like I have enough time for writing all of the things that I have on the go. Well nothing has changed in that direction and to cut short a very long thought process I have decided to give the short stories a rest at least for a while. I haven't had a lot of success with them this year which in itself can be very disheartening but I have had more non fiction published than ever before. So that is what I am going to concentrate on for the next few months. Well that and my book which is my real baby.

I love reading your stories Colette (the situations themselves tend to be very unusual). I hope you don't take too long a break from them. Also, it may just be that there are other markets that are more suited to your style...
I do understand the desire to keep going with your non-fiction though. And you're doing well at it so why not. Either way I know there'll be many more successes coming your way.
Best of luck with the book too! I am in awe of everything you manage to fit in.
Dx
Good luck with your novel and non-fiction, Colette. Hope you go back to the short stories soon though as they are FAB! x
Do you have specific areas of interest for your non-fiction, or is anything fair game? I ask because I've dabbled with NF but couldn't find a suitable market, given my areas of expertise.
How's the baby growing?
Thanks David. I think that "fitting it in" is part of the problem - I don't - well not as I would like anyway.
Cheers Amanda - I hope the bug comes back quickly because I enjoyed it while it lasted.
Captain - I don't have your problem because I have no field of expertise. I'll write about anything really because I find that research is a great way of learning new things.
Sometimes a break gives you chance to clear your mind so when you do go back you'll have a fresh approach with your new stories which maybe what the editors as looking for when you do start writing them again
Let's hope so Jarmara
Good luck, life never stands still.
No it does not Ken - and you've got to try top keep moving forwards. Hope life is treating you well.
