Continuing the rewrite, I wrote a new scene yesterday and got to a point where I wasn't sure what to write next. I'm sure that is something that we are all familiar with or maybe not it might just be me. Anyway, I thought that if I left it and came back later it would all fit into place. Not so. I have just edited what I wrote yesterday and have come to "that" sentence and am still not sure what it is I want to say.
So for a bit of fun I thought that I'd ask your good selves. Please complete,

"Are you sure you heard them correctly?” She pushed the cup away, screwing her nose up as the taste of the stewed tea hit the back of her throat. “I mean to say, it can’t be true! You must have misheard?” She stared at the abandon cup. Earl Grey had always been her favourite tea, but today it left a bitter taste in her mouth almost as bad as what she was being told. How could, she wondered, something so enjoyable one day could leave you feeling so hurt and rejected the next. She stood up, pick up the cup and empty the rest of the tea away.
Is that of any help... Colette.. lol
"almost as bad as what she was being told..." - interesting Jarmara.

'what's in this? It tastes odd.'
She looked up in horror at Lisa, who sat staring at Sadie, her look cold and empty, at odds with her cosy living room.
'I just added a little something for flavour,' said Lisa. 'To help you sleep.' Her tone was calm, barely above a whisper.
Sadie felt panic rise in her chest. she had no idea how Lisa had found out, but she had, and was taking the worst kind of revenge. She felt her throat closing up as the peanut oil Lisa had put in the tea took effect. She struggled for breath as her cup fell to the floor, tea spilling, porcelain cracking. She looked pleadingly at Lisa but she was unmoved, watching silently as Sadie's allergy overtook her.
:o)
Sarah - poor Sadie!
... if she could have coffee instead!
The tea had been made, brewed and partially drunk before Sadie asked: "Do you remember what happened to your Father, Miss Litvinjenko?"
Helen - coffee would work just as well.
Captain - that's an interesting proposition.
The tea had been made, brewed and partially drunk before Sadie asked, "So why did he leave?"
That's given me an idea for a short story - you should do this every week!
The tea had been made, brewed and partially drunk before Sadie asked, "So is it true? Are you really pregnant?"
Karen and Caroline - what great ideas. Maybe I will do this every week.
Oh dear, can't come up with anything. But I did enjoy reading the other comments.

There are certainly a few ideas in the melting pot Suzanne. If it's any consolation to you I couldn't come up with anything either so I changed the last word to said and it changed completely. Lots of food for thought though.
