Can anyone help?

Can anybody give me a definitive answer on how That's Life (Australia) work. I've had 3 or 4 stories published by them and the way it has happened for me is that I've sent the story in an email and 6 or 7 months or so later I've had one back from them accepting it. I've also had my fair share of rejections from them which have arrived also via email either within days or several weeks/months. However I've read in a few places that these days they "shortlist." How does this work? I have sent them 3 stories since November but haven't heard anything.

If anyone can help you, it would be our Suzanne (Jones). She is a mine of information.

Can you email the editor and ask? Sounds very confusing to me!

You're probably right gaelikka (I love that name) - I should probably drop Suzanne an email.
I could emial the editor FP but I hate to hassle people especially editors. And you're right - it is very confusing.

I don't know the answer to your question, Colette, but I do have an award for you on my blog.

Have a great weekend

Aw, am blushing. And your faith in me is undeserved as I haven't ever subbed to them. But have you had look at womagwriter's blog? I'm sure she's got some info posted up about them.

PS from Suzanne who can't sign in because she's at work (although, I have done all my work for today so I'm not really skiving).

Thanks Jarmara - I'll nip over there shortly and pick it up.

I think they're going through some changes at the moment, which doesn't help much! Normally they let you know quite quickly if something's been shortlisted and they keep it on file indefinitely, but I haven't heard anything from them for a while :o(

Oh well I'll keep our fingers crossed for both of us Karen. I've always heard from them eventually be it good or bad.
