Answers on a postcard please

That would be a metaphorical postcard of course.
When writing a first draft do you
a) Get it all down as quickly as possible and worry about errors later
or
b) revise and review as your going along?

For me it was a) I did a bit of b) but it seemed to slow me down

That;s what I thought Lily. I did b) when I wrote BTL but I'm considering a) for my current one. I'll just have to pretend that I can't see all those red and green lines and not worry about the inconsistancies until later.

I tend to revise and review as I go along, mainly to get me in the mood to carry on, but it's easy to get distracted by it and NEVER move on!

That's my worry Karen. I am sooooo easily distracted.

I tend to quickly write a few chapters at a time and then go back to revise and review in order to make sure it's staying on track. I also have a small group of "Shadow Readers" who help me out along the way.

I do a bit of both, Colette. Each time I start to work, I re-read the previous work and edit anything that's particularly jarring or just plain wrong, but otherwise keep going and carry on. If I feel unhappy about any particular passage I make a note of it and return to it when I've finished. How about you?

I guess its trial and error Olivia until I work out what works best for me.
