I used to beat myself up about it but not any more.Colette McCormickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00383068332228040704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2903386787317265543.post-57606386207620939372008-06-15T11:19:00.000+01:002008-06-15T11:19:00.000+01:00I'm also only a 2 or 3 a month person. I am amazed by Della Galton and other writers who appear so often in the womens' mags that I really wonder how they manage their incredible output of stories.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10687931689311286924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2903386787317265543.post-50991596725203649662008-06-13T05:34:00.000+01:002008-06-13T05:34:00.000+01:00You and I could be twins womag except my kids are ...You and I could be twins womag except my kids are now in their
20's and i don't hold with that excercise nonsense. I'll have months when I write loads and loads and then the next month maybe just one story/article. I guess it averages itself over the year to about 3 a month. I know hat if it was my main source of income I would have to produce a lot more. Wonder how much Della does - maybe I'll ask her.Colette McCormickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00383068332228040704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2903386787317265543.post-16223828788260763542008-06-12T22:35:00.000+01:002008-06-12T22:35:00.000+01:00Definitely not my major source of income. I have a full time job, two school age kids, a house which needs endless DIY and a midlife crisis which is making me go out and run/circuit train/swim at every opportunity. So not a lot of time to write.

I aim to write 2 a month, preferably 3. Am just about managing that at the moment but I have a backlog of stories needing major edits.Kath McGurlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02526923882402757423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2903386787317265543.post-77928806759316500392008-06-12T11:39:00.000+01:002008-06-12T11:39:00.000+01:00I write approximately 700 words a day, on various ...I write approximately 700 words a day, on various projects, for about five days a week. Of that, only one piece could be classed as a short story, as I'm mostly working on longer things.

I'm a believer in the "work smarter, not harder" philosophy, so my rate of output is not that great. I'm still trying to learn as much as I can about the craft.

Definitely not a source of income of any kind.
