I'll bet that the kids come up with great stories.Colette McCormickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00383068332228040704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2903386787317265543.post-37230583284580933332008-07-26T10:14:00.000+01:002008-07-26T10:14:00.000+01:00When I 'put my other hat on' and do author visits ...When I 'put my other hat on' and do author visits to schools I take my Magic Box with me. It's a small index file box - the index cards have headers: Beginnings, Middles, Ends, Characters, Problems, Objects, Weather etc. I write one sentence on each of the dozen or so smaller cards behind each index card - the children pull out one card from each section and have to use all the info in their story. And they can make up a 'proper' story every time.

So it's much like the grid except you can't see what you're getting 'til you get it!Pat Posnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09024751148905919332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2903386787317265543.post-55827418629358194732008-07-24T20:31:00.000+01:002008-07-24T20:31:00.000+01:00You're right Annie they do get the brain cells wor...You're right Annie they do get the brain cells working. I'd forgotten all about the grid. The way that it works is that you make a grid that has four columns. You head the columns "main character, minor character, location and situation." The you randomly fill in the grid with whatever comes into your head and then you have the basis for your story. For example one of mine is a bride and a spaceman eating ice cream down a coal mine. Mmmm!!! I wonder.Colette McCormickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00383068332228040704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2903386787317265543.post-25692360629586378632008-07-23T16:24:00.000+01:002008-07-23T16:24:00.000+01:00Hi Gonna BeGlad you had two lovely surprises... st...Hi Gonna Be

Glad you had two lovely surprises... story generators are such a great idea.Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06919354420843737481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2903386787317265543.post-28236999878895490902008-07-23T10:09:00.000+01:002008-07-23T10:09:00.000+01:00Intriguing.
